The test described on our existing website is an antibody-based blood screening method involving IgA antibodies associated with tissue transglutaminase (tTG) and gliadin-related targets. The exact assay and its limitations should be confirmed before booking. Standard medical assessment often includes tTG-IgA and total IgA; additional tests may be required, especially in IgA deficiency.

Coeliac disease, wheat allergy and gluten sensitivity: what is the difference?
Coeliac disease is an autoimmune disorder. Wheat allergy involves an allergic immune response and may require assessment by an allergy specialist. Non-coeliac gluten or wheat sensitivity is considered only after other relevant conditions have been evaluated. These conditions are not interchangeable, and no single screening test diagnoses all three.

Can a blood test confirm coeliac disease?
Blood tests are useful for screening, but diagnosis may require further assessment, including specialist evaluation and sometimes a small-bowel biopsy.
Should I stop eating gluten before the test?
No, unless instructed by your doctor. Continue your usual gluten-containing diet until your diagnostic pathway is complete.
What if my result is negative but symptoms continue?
Discuss persistent symptoms with your doctor. A negative result does not always rule out coeliac disease, especially if gluten intake was reduced or IgA deficiency is present.
Is coeliac disease the same as gluten intolerance?
